MARS sets Interoperability Communications Exercise for August 15

The US Department of Defense (DOD) Military Auxiliary Radio Service (MARS) operators in the U.S., Germany, and Japan will take part in an interoperability exercise on Monday, August 15, from 1200 UTC to 2359 UTC. The focus of the exercise is "to train during a simulated communications-constrained environment using radio-only communications capabilities." MARS operators will encourage communications with Amateur Radio operators at eh local and regional levels using HF, VHF, and UHF frequencies. The use of interoperability channels on 60 meters- especially 5330.5 and 5346.5 KHz. This exercise is tied to a larger DOD exercise. All Amateur Radio Operators are encouraged to participate.
